New Vegas, Boone Got Lost...?

I've always had problems with ED-E. I had lost him twice while in the vaults and never got him back during the following 20 hours of play time in the game. What I started doing was to physically take the companion back to the Lucky 38 and then release them. You should try and wait it out and see if Boone eventually returns to the Lucky 38.
