Can folding knives fold back on your hand?

I ordered a SOG Flash II in the mail and I know it does not lock when the blade is out. For folding knives in general, if you were to stab something hard (wood, wall) head on are you risking it to fold back on your hand and cut you? I just have a phobia of this with folding knives.
