If someone gets stabbed what are they able to do in the hospital?

My girlfriend got stabbed and she is in the hospital now she's been there since last night. They told her she can go home on Friday. Is that too soon? It seems awfully quick to me. Also, she wants me to bring her her cell phone so she can text her family and talk to them and tell them about what happened even though I've already called them (she especially wants to talk to her sister, they're close) should I allow her to have her cell phone and should she be going home so soon? Thanks
