Fallout 3 new vegas companions?

my companions for some reason will not be able to go to the lucky 38 for some reason. i think it has to do something with the boomers. it only will let me send them back home. note: i have not tried this yet on raul or lily but it would not let me send the 188 trading post girl or boone back to the lucky 38 only back to their home. HELP ME PLZ!
