American Sign Language vs. Objectivism?
This is a very good question, maybe. Too often people ask questions which are far outside the realm of philosophy. Good to see a post on topic. But can you use an example? You use the term concept in a seemingly ambiguous way. I was with you until you asked 'is it ok to formulate, alter, and adapt the symbols to the specific concepts.' Here is where I'm not sure what you mean by concepts. If you mean a representation, then my first reaction is yes. Why not? As you stated the symbols are arbitrary and as long as there is agreement, meaning the symbol corresponds to a representation within ones mind, within the community I don't see why that would be a problem. I must be missing something. I'm not familiar with the objectivist theory of concepts or I would give it a shot. Perhaps you can follow up with more information.
